About Alex
Studio Strachan was founded by Alex Strachan following her studies at the Inchbald School of Design and many years spent thoughtfully restoring and designing her own homes. Today, she works with clients to create interiors that feel both deeply personal and effortlessly timeless.
Drawing inspiration from architecture, craftsmanship and the stories that make each home unique, Alex is known for her considered use of colour, pattern and texture. Her interiors balance beauty with practicality, layering character and comfort to create spaces that feel collected rather than decorated.
Whether overseeing a full renovation or providing tailored design consultancy, Alex approaches every project with curiosity, care and attention to detail. She believes that the most successful interiors evolve from a close understanding of how people live, resulting in homes that are not only beautiful, but enriching to spend time in.
Based between Edinburgh and London, Studio Strachan works on residential projects of varying scales, collaborating closely with clients, craftspeople and suppliers to create thoughtful, enduring interiors designed to be lived in and loved for years to come.

Full Interior Design »
Working closely with you throughout the whole project from early design concepts all the way through to completion. Often we will work alongside your appointed architects and project managers to create beautiful homes personal to each individual client. . This package would span all planning, sourcing, decoration, procurement and installation, within an agreed budget.
Tailored Interior Consultancy »
If you are looking for advice, but without wanting a full design package, we can help with by consulting either online or in person. This is arranged by the day and is often more contained to specific advice on a single room or an extra pair of eyes to support on chosen areas e.g. reviewing plans, layouts, joinery design, window treatments, furniture selection and textile choices. Studio Strachan is also happy to offer remote consultations.
